CANTON, Ga. – Conference play is still two weeks away for SAA teams as they continue to battle nonconference competition. Berry traveled to the Triangle Classic in Raleigh, splitting six games against some of the nation’s top competition. The Vikings moved to 12-4 on the season after the big weekend. Millsaps won a pair of the weekend and is 7-4 while Sewanee swept Berea and sits at 5-5.

Christian Cain | Sewanee | Junior | Atlanta, Ga – batted .600 (3-for-5) in Sewanee’s doubleheader win against Berea on Friday. She added five RBIs, connected on a two-run home run, and scored two runs. She drove in two runs with a single in the first inning and hit a two-run homer in the fifth. Cain singled home a run in the opener as well in the first inning.
Pitcher:
Reagen Huskey | Sewanee | Sophomore | Huntsville, Ala. - picked-up her first-ever collegiate win in the circle in a 13-3 drubbing of Berea. In 9.2 innings of work over two games, she racked up seven strikeouts to just two walks while scattering four hits. She didn’t allow an earned run in either appearance.
Notable Performances:
- Ava Fouts (Berry) – was huge at the plate this week for the Vikings in the Triangle Classic. She had a hit in all but one game, including three multi-hit outings. The senior was 8-for-19 with five RBI and four runs scored. Fouts knocked in two runs in the Vikings close loss to sixth-ranked Virginia Wesleyan. She was also big against The College of New Jersey, going 2-for-5 with three RBI.
- Rylee Sandifer (Centre) - had the best weekend of her collegiate career in the weekend contest for the Colonels. In the first Wilmington contest she had a career-best three hits, her first ever double, and a career-high .444 average. She scored one run in each of the four contests, had a total of four RBI on the weekend, and notched six total hits across the two twin bills.
- Haley Peterson (Millsaps) - helped the Majors sweep LaGrange in a road doubleheader on Saturday. She batted 6-for-8 with a home run, four RBIs, five runs, a double and a walk.
- Hannah Gore (Berry) - reached her 400 career strikeouts mark this weekend in the win over TCNJ at the Triangle Classic. She threw five innings with six strikeouts allowing three runs
- Kennedy Caudill (Centre) - saw action in three games in the circle over the weekend. She went a total of 10.1 innings and struck out a collegiate career-high five batters in the first game of the Wilmington series. In the Anderson series' final inning, she allowed just one hit and no runs.
- Haley Peterson (Millsaps) - tossed seven scoreless at LaGrange on Saturday. She struck out three batters, while allowing just one walk, five hits and no earned runs in a 10-2 triumph.
