Co-Athletes of the Week:
Ryan Dunn & Diego Passos | Oglethorpe – Oglethorpe juniors Ryan Dunn and Diego Passos started the spring season for the No. 10 Stormy Petrels with T9 efforts at the Savannah Invitational. The pair represented the top finishers among all SAA competitors at the event. Dunn finished strong with a 4 under par over the last round, highlighted by a stretch of four birdies across five holes as he made the turn. Passos started strong with his best round on Monday, a 5 under par 67 where he finished with birdies on four of his last eight holes. Dunn and Passos helped Oglethorpe erase a 15-stroke deficit during the final round, climbing up to runner-up behind only No. 1 Huntingdon.
Notable Performances:
- Harrison Akers | Centre | SR | Franklin, TN – Harrison Akers had a strong finish at the Port City Classic this past weekend, finishing with a final score of 70, an improvement from his first-round score of 72 and second-round score of 75. He had a total of 10 birdies over the two-day competition. He finished 3rd on the overall player leaderboard.
- Parker Tenent Jr. | Rhodes – Parker Tenent Jr. led the Rhodes men’s golf team at the Savannah Harbor Invitational, posting the top individual finish for the Lynx with a 54-hole total of 220 (+4) to tie for 32nd place in a highly competitive field. Tenent opened the tournament with a 73 (+1) to lead Rhodes in Round 1, followed by a 75 (+3) in Round 2, and closed with an even-par 72as the Lynx recorded their best team round of the event. His consistent play helped Rhodes improve its score each round of the three-day tournament, finishing with a team total of 897 (+33) after rounds of 308, 297, and 292, highlighting the team’s steady progress throughout the competition.
- Sam Rossi | Trinity | SO | Los Angeles, CA – Sam Rossi paced the Tigers, finishing 2-under for the tournament and earning a 12th-place finish. Rossi opened with a 1-over round but caught fire on the back nine, carding two birdies to turn in 35. He delivered an impressive second round, tallying four birdies for a 3-under 69. Rossi closed the tournament at even par with two more birdies, demonstrating steady, composed play throughout the three rounds.
