Athlete of the Week:
Jackson Hiller | Oglethorpe | JR | Vero Beach, FL – Oglethorpe junior Jackson Hiller led the No. 14 Stormy Petrels to a fourth-place finish at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate last weekend. He held the lead through the first two rounds after shooting 69 across each of the first two days, ultimately settling in at solo second overall on the individual leaderboard. Hiller led the field in par 4 scoring at 5 under and in birdies with 15.
Notable Performances:
-
Charlie Reber | Centre | JR | Bowling Green, KY – Reber set the tone early with an impressive 71 (-1) in Round 1, using a hot front nine and consistent ball-striking to move under par and position himself well in the field. He followed with a 75 (+3) in Round 2, staying relatively steady but unable to generate enough birdie opportunities to maintain his early momentum. In the final round, Reber carded an 81 (+9), running into difficulties particularly on the back nine where a stretch of costly holes pushed him up the leaderboard. The team finished 3rd overall with reber placing in a tie for 7th on the final player leaderboard.
- Carter Code | Trinity | SR | Calgary, Canada – Code led the 15th-ranked Trinity men's golf team to a second-place finish at the West Region Invitational this week, falling by eight shots to #7 Mary Hardin-Baylor. Code finished in a tie for seventh individually after shooting a +6 score of 222 (70-76-76) over the three-round event on Monday and Tuesday.
