2026 SAA Golf Championship

Athlete of the Week:
Turner Chiles | Sewanee | SO | Houston, TX – Chiles tied the school single-round record with a a bogey-free eight-under 64 in the first round at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, posting six birdies plus an eagle. He followed that with two rounds of 68 to win low medalist honors. He played 33 holes before making a bogey, his only bogey of the tournament. Chiles double bogeyed his 50th hole of the event, No. 14 in the final round, and trailed by two shots before making birdie on three of the final four holes, winning by two strokes over Washington and Lee’s Jonathan McEwen. It marks his seventh career Top-10 finish in 16 career events at Sewanee.

Notable Performances:
  • Wynn Flynt | Centre | FR | Lexington, KY – Wynn Flynt delivered a solid two-round performance at Keene Trace Golf Club on the Champion Trace Course, finishing with a total of 150 (+6). After a challenging opening round of 77 (+5), highlighted by a few costly holes in the middle of the front nine, he showed resilience by settling in and playing his final 10 holes at just +1. He carried that momentum into Round 2, carding a much cleaner 73 (+1), including an even-par front nine and a key birdie on the par-3 14th. Overall, the four-shot improvement between rounds reflects better consistency and control, with fewer big mistakes and a strong ability to bounce back under pressure.
  • Jackson Hiller | Oglethorpe | JR | Vero Beach, FL – Oglethorpe junior Jackson Hiller led the No. 10 Stormy Petrels at the Jekyll Island Collegiate this weekend, firing 67-72-68 for a 9 under par. It was good for a T8 finish. Hiller ranked T3 on the par 3's at 1 under, and he was T8 with 37 pars.
