Athletes of the Week: 
Pitcher: 
Josephine Koelewyn | Trinity | JR | Reno, NV – Koelewyn pitched in all six of Trinity's games over the past week as the Tigers went 4-2 overall. Trinity lost 4-0 and 7-6 by #17 Tufts early in the week, then came back to sweep both St. Olaf College (MN) (8-5 and 4-3) and Bethel University (MN) (3-2 and 3-2). She went 3-1 with a save over 23.1 innings of work, allowing just nine runs and recording nine strikeouts. Koelewyn opened the week with a complete-game loss to Tufts, then picked up three wins and a save this weekend. She pitched 6.2 total innings in the opener against St. Olaf, allowing three runs on six hits. Koelewyn then came back in game two of the doubleheader and pitched the final inning of the game to pick up the save, allowing just one hit and recording a strikeout. She earned the win in both games against Bethel, tallying 7.2 innings pitched and allowing just two runs on seven hits across the two games - including the final 2.2 innings of game two as Trinity rallied for the win.

Athlete: 
Macey Gilman | Southwestern | SO | Kingdwood, TX – Sophomore Macey Gilman turned in an outstanding week at the plate, hitting .353 (6-for-17) while appearing in all seven games for the Pirates. She posted a .450 on-base percentage and an impressive .824 slugging percentage, totaling five runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and seven RBIs. Gilman’s biggest performance came in game two on Saturday against No. 5 Berry College, where she launched two home runs—including the game-winner—and drove in three of the Pirates’ four runs. Her efforts were instrumental in securing the series victory over Berry and helping the Pirates open up conference play!

  • Ashley Howard | Centre | SO | Harrodsburg, KY – In 2 games at Millsaps over the weekend, Ashley Howard pitched 11 innings, scattering 8 hits and only allowing 1 earned run on 140 combined pitches. With these results, she lowered her season ERA by over 2 full runs.
  • Julie Amacher | Millsaps | JR | Chelsea, AL –Millsaps softball junior right-handed pitcher Julie Amacher helped the Majors sweep Centre College in the conference opener with two appearances over the weekend. In the circle against the Colonels, Amacher threw 6.0 innings, striking out three batters while allowing just one walk and recording a 0.00 ERA. She provided one inning of relief on Saturday before delivering 5.0 innings of scoreless pitching, allowing only one hit and one walk, and striking out three on Sunday.
  • Abbie Buckner | Sewanee | JR | Corryton, TN – Buckner pitched 6.0 innings over two outings in the weekend series against Rhodes, compiling a 1-1 record. She allowed five earned runs on five hits in three innings in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, suffering the loss. The righthander came back with three shutout frames in Sunday's 4-3 victory to earn the win, giving up two hits with no walks and two strikeouts, getting the final nine outs of the game.
  • Mazlyn Heyer | Southwestern | JR | Willis, TX – Junior Mazlyn Heyer delivered a strong week in the circle, making three appearances and totaling 13 innings pitched. Highlighting her performance was a standout outing against No. 5 Berry College, where she earned the win while allowing just four hits and two runs, finishing with a 1.17 ERA and adding two strikeouts. Heyer’s control and effectiveness against a top-ranked opponent played a key role in the Pirates’ success, stepping up in a big moment and delivering when it mattered most.

  • Brynn Arena | Millsaps | SO | Prairieville, LA – Millsaps softball sophomore outfielder Brynn Arena boasted a .588 on-base percentage and .583 slugging percentage, while batting 5-for-12 to help the Majors to a 4-1 week. She also tallied two doubles, three RBIs, three runs, four walks, and three steals in five games hosting Illinois Wesleyan University and Centre College. Arena recorded two hits, one double, one run, an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base to help the Majors split a doubleheader against the Titans. The Majors split with 2026 NCAA Championship participant IWU and sweep Centre in a three-game series.
  • Isabella Barber | Rhodes | FR | Fredericksburg, VA – Freshman Isabela Barbers delivered a breakout performance at the plate and in the field, powering Rhodes to its first conference series victory of the season over Sewanee. The versatile corner infielder was dominant offensively, batting .444 with a .545 on-base percentage and an impressive .889 slugging percentage, good for a 1.434 OPS. Barbers drove in five runs on the weekend, highlighted by a clutch home run, while also providing steady defense at both first and third base to cap off an all-around standout showing.
  • Sydney Tackett | Sewanee | JR | Fort Wayne, IN – Tackett batted .375 (3-for-8) with three doubles, three walks, three runs scored and one RBI in three games versus Rhodes. She doubled, walked twice and scored two runs in the second game of the series and added two doubles (becoming the program's all-time leader) with one RBI in the series finale, accumulating a .636 on-base percentage over the three contests.
  • Carsyn Lee | Trinity | SR | Flower Mound, TX – Lee led the Trinity softball team to a 4-2 record over the past week, losing twice to #17 Tufts early in the week, then sweeping both St. Olaf College and Bethel University over the weekend. Lee batted .400 (8-for-20) overall with two runs and a team-best five RBI, picking up two doubles among her eight hits. She was 2-for-4 with three RBI in the opening game against St. Olaf, tying the game with an infield hit in the first, then putting the Tigers up 6-4 at the time with her two-run single in the fourth inning.
