CANTON, Ga. – Two big invitationals hosted SAA swimming and diving teams last week. Centre hosted the Speedo Invitational in Danville, welcoming 10 teams Champions Hall. The Colonels won the event over Cumberlands. Berry finished sixth and Sewanee seventh. At the Delta State Invitational, Rhodes posted a second place finish with Hendrix coming in fourth and Millsaps seventh.

Adeline Carroll | Rhodes | Senior | Vestavia Hills, Ala. - delivered an outstanding performance at the Thanksgiving Invitational, winning all three of her individual events with personal-best times. She claimed victory in the 200 IM (2:03.41), 200 freestyle (1:51.80), and 200 breaststroke (2:18.00), with all three times meeting NCAA B cut standards for 2025. Adeline was also a key member of four relays, each breaking school and/or conference records and achieving NCAA B cuts and invitation times for 2025.
DIVER:
Katie Walker | Sewanee | Senior | York, S.C. - delivered an exceptional performance, securing two third-place finishes on the diving boards at the Centre Speedo Invitational. Competing against a field that included two three-year regional qualifiers, Walker tallied a total of 64 points. In the 1-meter dive (11 dives), she scored 364.20, defeating all conference divers in the event. On the 3-meter dive (11 dives), she matched this feat with a score of 354.50.
Notable Performances:
Erin Dannemiller (Centre ) - finished fourth in the one-meter dive with a score of 329.35. She also finished in the same spot in the three-meter dive thanks to a tally of 332.05. The Centre women won the Speedo Midseason Invite over Sewanee and Berry as well as two DII teams and a top 10 ranked NAIA team.
Molly Heath (Berry) - helped her quad place fourth in the 200 free relay with a total time of 1:38.93 and boosted them to a fourth place finish in the 400 medley relay. Individually in the 200 IM she finished eighth overall with a time of 2:13.26. In the 400 IM she had a new personal best, 4:53.84, placing tenth overall and putting her at fourth in the conference.
Callie West (Centre) - native broke the school record in the 100 backstroke and earned a B cut with a leadoff time of 56.41 in the 400 medley relay, which also won with a time of 3:53.98. West added another B cut in the 50 freestyle, winning with a time of 23.43. She secured a victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.08 and won the 100 freestyle in 51.92. She was also part of the 400 medley relay that finished with a winning time of 3:31.99. The Centre women won the Speedo Midseason Invite over Sewanee and Berry as well as two DII teams and a top 10 ranked NAIA team.
Kat Burns (Millsaps) - swam well at the Delta State Thanksgiving Invite over the weekend. She was sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke finals (1:07.49) and swam 1:07.23 in the prelims. Burns was also 13th in both the 50-yard freestyle (24.74) and 100-yard freestyle (54.98).
Ella Deitch (Sewanee) - had an outstanding weekend, earning 97 points and setting a new team record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:36.33, finishing second overall and posting the fastest time in the conference. She also took third place in the 500 Free (5:13.47, second in the conference) and the 1650 Free (17:46.91), narrowly missing the team record but clocking the fastest time in the conference. Deitch contributed to the 800 Free Relay team’s sixth-place finish, swimming a strong 2:00.86 split.
