CANTON, Ga. - Carrier of Sewanee picks up the first accolade of 2026 with three wins this past week.

Athlete of the Week:
Reid Carrier | Sewanee | JR | Highlands, N.C. – Carrier averaged 15.0 points and 6.3 assists, helping the Tigers to three victories during the week. He posted 13 points and six assists versus Brevard and collected 17 points, six rebounds and five assists against LaGrange in wins at the Jack Berkshire Classic at Oglethorpe. In the conference opener versus Centre, he netted 15 points, all in the second half, including the final nine of the game, as Sewanee used a 12-4 spurt late in the contest to pull out the win. He made a 3-pointer and then posted an old-fashioned 3-point play for the final six points of the run, then added another basket plus the foul and connected on three free throws in the final minute. After starting the season 0-6, the Tigers have won 5-of-6 overall.
 
 
Notable Performances:
  • Davion James | Millsaps | JR | Brandon, MS – Millsaps men's basketball junior guard Davion James had a strong week of action, helping the Majors to three victories. He averaged 13.33 points, 4.67 rebounds, 2.33 assists and 1.33 steals in wins over Huntingdon on Sunday, Ozarks on Tuesday and Rhodes on Saturday.
  • Kemp Jackson | Oglethorpe | SR | Roswell, GA – Oglethorpe senior Jackson Kemp had a phenomenal week with three double-digit scoring games on the way to earning all-tournament honors at Oglethorpe's Jack Berkshire Classic. In the two games of the tournament, he scored a career high-tying 26 points in the opening game then followed that with a new career best 27 the next day. Kemp closed the week with 12 points against No. 7 Emory. He also put up solid rebounding numbers in all three games. 
  • Phil Dotson III | Rhodes | SR | Memphis, TN – Phil Dotson delivered a dominant week for Rhodes, highlighted by a historic offensive performance and steady leadership across two games. He poured in 42 points in just 27 minutes during a 103–61 win over Westminster (MO), shooting 15-for-22 from the field and 9-for-14 from three-point range while accounting for more than 40 percent of the Lynx’s scoring. Dotson followed with 16 points and 6 assists against Millsaps, consistently creating offense under heavy defensive pressure while leading the team in scoring once again. For the week, he averaged 29.0 points per game on efficient shooting, firmly establishing himself as one of the conference’s most impactful guards.
  • Will Bronson | Trinity | SO | Dallas, TX – Bronson led the 24th-ranked Tiger men's basketball team to a 94-74 home win over Southwestern University to begin Southern Athletic Association play on Saturday night. He finished with a double-double of 16 points and a game-high 13 boards to go with a game-best three blocked shots, connecting on 10-of-12 at the free throw line.
