Athlete of the Week:
Keimarya Rivera | Oglethorpe | SR | Canton, GA – Oglethorpe senior Keimarya Rivera continued the incredibly strong finish to her incredible career with two more double-doubles this past weekend, helping lead the Stormy Petrels to two wins. She went 10-for-16 from the field Friday night to lead Oglethorpe past SAA leader Trinity, scoring 25 alongside 12 rebounds. Then, she put up 18 points and 10 rebounds in a come-from-behind win over Southwestern. Rivera is averaging 23.5 points per game over the last six games and she has scored double figures in each of the last 17 games.
Notable Performances:
- Lauren Ellard | Berry | SR | Oxford, AL – Ellard averaged 14.5 points as a two-way threat for the Vikings in their two games this past weekend. Her 16 point performance was the difference against Southwestern in the 66-56 win. She shot 8-10 from the free throw line and grabbed seven rebounds while coming up with a huge block and steal. She followed that up with a valiant 13 point and 8 rebound effort against Trinity.
- Tessa Miles | Centre | FR | Bardstown, KY – Over the course of two games, Tessa Miles recorded 21 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals, showcasing her all-around impact on both ends of the floor.
- Garin Freeman | Millsaps | JR | Little Rock, AR – Millsaps women's basketball junior guard Garin Freeman continued her stellar season by being an offensive difference maker over the weekend, helping the Majors better Centre (80-57) and Sewanee (77-55). She averaged 20.5 points, eight assists, 2.5 steals, three rebounds, shooting 60 percent (15-for-25 FG). Freeman scored 22 points and tied a season-high 11 assists against the Colonels before adding 19 points in 19 minutes against the Tigers.
- Janie Boyd | Sewanee | FR | Jacksonville, FL – Boyd averaged 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games for the Tigers. She netted 11 points in a three-point loss at Rhodes College, making 4-of-9 shots from the field. She followed that with 19 points and eight boards at Millsaps College, connecting on 6-of-16 shots with a pair of 3-pointers and 5-for-6 at the foul line. She has scored 18 or more points in five of the last six games for Sewanee.
