Athletes of the Week: 
Pitcher: 
Kennedy Caudill | Centre | SO | New Albany, IN – Kennedy Caudill went 2-0 in Centre's 3-game sweep of Sewanee over the weekend. She pitched a combined 9 innings, allowing just 5 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 9 batters.

Athlete: 
Mariana Garcia | Trinity | SO | Goodyear, AZ - Garcia led the Tiger softball team to a 2-1 record at #9 Berry over the weekend, bouncing back from a 4-3 loss in game one with a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, winning 8-3 and 9-3. Garcia batted an astounding .800 (8-for-10) for the weekend with four doubles and six RBI. She started the weekend by going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Trinity's narrow loss. Garcia came back with another 3-for-3 performance that included two more RBI and another double, and then finished the weekend with a 2-for-4 performance with another double and two more RBI. Prior to this weekend, Garcia was batting .217 (10-for-46) with three doubles and two RBI. Her performance this weekend raised her batting average more than .100 points and put her into a tie for the team lead in doubles this season.

Pitcher

  • Gina Dudley | Rhodes | SR | Palatine, IL – Senior ace Gina Dudley set the tone for the series against Southwestern from the very first inning, striking out the side to open the game. She went on to toss a complete game, allowing just six hits and two earned runs in the Lynx’s 6–3 series-opening win. Her dominant performance provided the momentum Rhodes carried through the rest of the sweep.
  • Megan Kriechbaum | Trinity | JR | Cedar Hills, UT – Kriechbaum led Trinity a 2-1 record in winning its SAA road series at #9 Berry College this weekend, bouncing back after a narrow 4-3 loss in game one, and then sweeping a Saturday doubleheader 8-3 and 9-3 to clinch the series. Kriechbaum went 1-1 this weekend with a 2.63 ERA and held Berry to a .219 batting average against her. She started two of the three games she pitched, totaling 8.0 innings and allowed just three earned runs (five total), while allowing just seven hits.

  • Morgan Tabor | Centre | SR | Hardinsburg, KY – In Centre's 11-3 win over Sewanee on Friday, Morgan Tabor hit 2 home runs, drew a walk and scored 3 times. She drew 3 more walks in Saturday's doubleheader as Centre swept the 3-game series. 
  • Katie Bejian | Rhodes | JR | Indian Trail, NC - Junior Katie Bejian was an offensive force in the series against Southwestern, going 7-for-8 for a .875 batting average. She also posted a .875 on-base percentage, a 1.125 slugging percentage, and a 2.000 OPS, while driving in two runs. Her impact on both sides of the ball proved critical in Rhodes’ series sweep.
