SAA Softball Report – April 7, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – With a month left in the regular season, 19th-ranked Berry leads the conference at 20-6 overall and 6-0 in league play. The Vikings will head into the stretch run of the schedule riding a 41-game SAA winning streak. Rhodes (11-13) has won its last four and is tied with Millsaps (15-9) for second in the league standings at 4-2.

Athletes of the Week:
Athlete:
Jasmyn Stanley | Rhodes | Junior | Murfreesboro, Tenn. – led Rhodes to a sweep of Sewanee, going 9-for-10 (.900 BA) at the plate. The junior posted a 1.000 slugging percentage and .909 on base percentage. Stanley racked up three RBI and scored three times while also stealing three bases to highlight her big week. In the first two games of the series, she was a combined 6-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored.
 
Pitcher:
Gina Dudley | Rhodes | Junior | Palatine, Ill.  - dominated for Rhodes this weekend, snagging two of the wins in a series sweep against Sewanee. In 11.2 innings pitched, she allowed just seven hits and two runs. Dudley walked one lone batter in her entire performance this weekend while striking out nine.
 
Notable Performances:
  • Tori Maldonado (Hendrix) - was an offensive force for the Warriors, going 4-for-9 at the plate across the two games with three runs scored and 8 RBIs. The sophomore went 1-4 in the opener with a run scored and three RBIs in an 11-4 win. She was the walk-off hero in game two as she cranked a 3-run shot to center field for an 11-8 win. She finished the game with three hits and five RBI, including an RBI double for her first of two extra-base hits.
  • Morgan Tabor (Centre) - had a combined batting average of .435 over two games versus Hendrix. The junior had two RBI in the first contest and notched two hits, one of which was a home run. She added another hit in the second game. The Colonel is fourth in the SAA in slugging percentage (.643) and on-base percentage (.515).
  • Ashley Howard (Centre) - pitched 6.2 innings in a contest versus Hendrix, picking up a pair of strikeouts. She is third in the league in batters struck out looking with 14. Howard is also tied for the fewest triples allowed among the SAA's hurlers.
  • Ava Fouts (Berry) - earned the game two win over Piedmont in her six innings of work. She allowed only two runs with two strikeouts.
