Atlanta, Ga. – Millsaps wrapped up its sixth SAA women’s basketball title in program history on Sunday, cruising past Hendrix to finish the year 12-2 and alone atop the league standings. The Majors clinched the No. 1 seed in the SAA Tournament and home court advantage throughout the tournament.
Centre and Berry are tied in second heading into the final games of the regular season with Rhodes siting fourth. All three schools have booked home games in the quarterfinals. The 2024 SAA Women’s Basketball Championship bracket will be released Wednesday, February 14 after the conclusion of the regular season.
Quarterfinal games will be held on Sunday, February 18. The semifinals and finals will take place at the highest remaining seed February 24-25.

Athlete of the Week:
Haley Franklin | Millsaps | Junior | Baton Rouge, La. – powered Millsaps to a pair of victories to close the Majors season atop the SAA standings. The junior averaged 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and two assists over the weekend. In a battle with Rhodes, she netted 23 points (9-11 FT) with six rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals. Franklin then contributed 13 points and five rebounds in a win against Hendrix on Sunday.
Notable Performances:
- Elly Callihan (Berry) - posted 13-points against Centre in a home victory and had a double-double with 11 points and thirteen rebounds against Sewanee in their second victory of the weekend while also dishing out three assists.
- Bailey Rucker (Centre) - started in both contest of the weekend, registering a total of 71 minutes. In the two contest, the junior amassed a total of 25 points, five rebounds, one assist, and five steals. In the win over Oglethorpe, Rucker led the Colonels' fourth quarter push that downed the Petrels in the final frame. In total over the weekend, the Kentucky native led Centre in minutes played, points, and made free throws.
- Olivia Falvey (Sewanee) – averaged 19 points, 5.5 rebounds and four assists a game. Against Oglethorpe, she had 22 points and six rebounds and on Sunday she had 16 points and 5 rebounds. She hit seven threes and added three steals, and two blocks on the weekend.
- Avery Marsh (Rhodes) – averaged 13.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists a game for the Lynx. She filled the stat sheet with 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists against Millsaps and had a 16 point game against Birmingham-Southern.
