SAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Report – March 31, 2025

CANTON, Ga.  – Five conference schools were in action in three different meets over the final weekend in March. Rhodes visited St. Louis for the Washington University Invitational and Centre participated in the Berea Landon Bond Classic. Berry, Oglethorpe, and Sewanee were in Atlanta for the Emory Thrills in the Hills event, which featured some of the toughest competition in Division III.
 
Around the SAA:  
Track Athlete of the Week:
Anna Rose | Berry | Senior | Jackson, Calif. – had a monster weekend at the Emory Thrills in the Hills. She placed fifth in the 800m run with a school record time of 2:13.45, the 10th fastest time ran in the nation this season. Rose was also fifth in the 5k, stopping the clock at 17:39.38 to rank 34th in Division III. Both times top the SAA with her 800 time ranking third in the region.
 
Field Athlete of the Week:
Madeline Hubbert | Berry | Senior | Birmingham, Ala.  – competing at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, Hubbert finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.30m. Her height in the best in the SAA this season and sixth in the South Region.
 
Notable Performance:
  • Emory Rhodes (Sewanee) -  made her mark in the pole vault, clearing a height that ranks third all-time in Sewanee history. Her performance also placed her among the top five in the SAA, continuing her strong season in the field events.
  • Journey Morrison (Sewanee) - delivered a record-breaking performance, setting a new Sewanee school record in the 100m hurdles while also claiming the top spot in the SAA and coming in second at the Emory Thrills in the Hills meet. She added to her impressive weekend by posting top-10 all-time Sewanee marks in both the 100m and 200m.
