CANTON, Ga. – Three schools made their final tune-ups for this week’s SAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Centre hosted a its Twilight meet on Friday night while Sewanee welcomed Berry to its campus for the Mountain Laurel Open.

Track Athlete of the Week:
Madjo Doumbia | Centre | Senior | Philadelphia, Pa. – moved up the national rankings after a standout night at the Centre Twilight. She posted the third fastest 100m time in the nation and set a new school record, stopping the clock at 11.68 seconds. She anchored the Colonels 4x100 relay to a school record time of 47.80, the 30
th-best in Division III. Doumbia was also the anchor for the 4x400 relay that is now 27
th in the nation with a time of 3:58.53.
Field Athlete of the Week:
Lindsey Browning | Centre | Junior | Cumberland, Ky. - had a spectacular day this past weekend at the Centre Twilight Meet hosted by Centre College in Danville, KY. The junior performed personal best marks in both throws in two throwing events: Shot Put-11.40m (37'5")-New personal best, finished 1st place in the event and Discus-35.94m (117'11")-New personal best.
Notable Performance:
- Laney Kalsu (Sewanee) - won the 800 meters at the Mountain Laurel Open in her first open 800m of the season, clocking a time of 2:22.63. The performance ranks among the top five all-time in Sewanee history and currently places her sixth in the Southern Athletic Association.
- Sofia Henderson (Berry) - had a big PR in the hammer and her mark of 42.44m is now third in the SAA. She also had a season PR in the discus with a fifth place finish.
- Cydney Wright (Sewanee) - delivered a dominant performance across three throwing events at the Mountain Laurel Invitational. She placed third in the javelin (95-6 / 29.10m), sixth in the discus (110-11 / 33.82m), and sixth in the shot put (36-11 / 11.25m), notching top-10 finishes in each. Her marks from Saturday now rank her third all-time in program history in the shot put, fourth in the discus, and eighth in the javelin.
